Qik adds new features
Find out what's new from Qik, which recently added a new mobile site and improved several aspects of its performance.
If you haven't heard of Qik, you can read Jose's Workshop article [1] to catch up or check out the official FAQ [2]. In the last few months, everyone from the Wall Street Journal [3] to hip-hop producer Just Blaze (via the RANDOM CLIPS widget on his blog [4]) has been putting Qik to the test.
Not only does Qik stream and store your videos online, it bypasses the need to store them on your device. This can be especially handy if you are looking to shoot a lot of video without storing it all to your device.
Now, as reported last week by the Boy Genius Report [5] and the Qik blog [6], you can watch prerecorded (not streaming) Qik videos on your mobile device. We’ll be keeping an eye on the Qik blog for announcements of new partnerships and hoping for an update to streaming live video in the near future
Browse recent Qik videos [7] or sign up for Qik [8] to try it for yourself. Then share your thoughts - or your Qik channel - in the comments.
