Newly released by Nokia Beta Labs, Nokia Step Counter is an application that records steps, distance and calories burned by utilizing the accelerometer on your N82, N95 or N95 8GB. As described in the Beta Labs blog [1] by Ole Kirkeby of the Step Counter team, "We have made an effort to ensure that Nokia Step Counter is accurate regardless of how you carry your phone. It should work fine if you have it in the pocket of your clothing, or a handbag you wear over your shoulder." Note: If you are currently using Nokia Activity Monitor on your device, you will need to uninstall it before you install Step Counter. The Nokia Step Counter team is interested in your feedback on how well it works at this stage, as well as your suggestions about other statistics you'd like to see it measure. Very useful application.It not only keeps a track of my regular calorie burner evening walks but also motivates me further during my walks as I can set targets and see how much of the target is achieved.
